There are three Dog Guard receiver models.
Dog Guard Features
All models of Dog Guard fence receivers are activated by an invisible signal that is generated by a Dog Guard transmitter and are available with the following features:
The Dog Guard Fail-Safe Feature will cause the receiver to deactivate after 30 consecutive seconds of activation. If your pet, for some reason, becomes stuck in the signal field, our system will sense this and will avoid giving your pet continuous stimulation. After the receiver is removed from the signal field it automatically resets itself and is in ready mode again.
Anti-falsing Technology assures that your dog's reciever will not be activated by a signal produced by an electromagnetic field that is generated by electrical appliances and devices or by any signal that is generated by electronic equipment. This is possible because the Dog Guard T4 and RT2 transmitters use two invisible signal types to operate, including an 88-bit digital code. This 88-bit digital code is the rough equivelant of sending a serial number through the air. If the serial number isn't there, the receiver won't activate.
The Dog Guard DG9-XT is designed for the moderate to tough dog.
Dual Zone Capability is present with all Dog Guard receiver models. This means that we can set a first zone that causes the receiver to generate an audible tone with a low level stimulation and a second zone that has a higher level of stimulation. The dual zone feature is made possible by the same 88-bit digital code mentioned above and basically, allows your receiver and transmitter to communicate with each other. Therefore if Spot takes off after a rabbit, your equipment will sense his progress into the second zone and will automatically increase the correction level, turning him back into his safe area.
32 Levels of Stimulation are available in all three models of the Dog Guard receiver. This means that we can precisely adjust the correction level on your receiver and match it perfectly to the personality and temperment of your dog.
The DG5000 is designed for the less difficult dog.
WaterPROOF receivers are the standard at Dog Guard. While the other guys are content with waterRESISTANT receivers, we take it to the next level.
The following characteristics are specific to their respective receiver:
The DG9-XT is an amazing piece of technology that is designed with the moderate to tough dog in mind. When set to its full capability, the DG9-XT delivers the highest pulsating correction level available on the market and it is all packed into the following dimensions. Width: 1.1875", Height: 1.125", Length: 2.25", Weight: 2.2 oz.
The Dog Guard Micro is designed for a timid or pocket pet.
The DG5000 is a mid-level but very capable receiver designed for the less challenging dog. Width: 1.125", Height: 1.125", Length: 2", Weight: 2 oz.
The DGM4 Micro-receiver is a compact wonder, but don't let its size deceive you. It is designed for your pocket pet or timid little pal, but is still packed with all of the features available in our other two receivers. Width: 1.125", Height: 1", Length: 1.875", Weight: 1.8 oz.
Regardless of your pet's demeanor, size, or temperment we have a receiver collar that is just right. We will assist in assessing your pet's personality and be sure to choose a receiver that is best suited for him.
The Dog Guard T4 transmitter has three indicator lights for ease of operation.
The Dog Guard T4 transmitter has a secure terminal block and easy set adjustments for signal field and correction intensity.
Dog Guard Transmitters
Dog Guard has two outdoor transmitters, the T4 transmitter (pictured above) and the TS5 transmitter (below and to the right). The T4 is "king of the hill" when it comes to pet containment systems and is loaded with features including three indicator lights and two tuning pot adjustments for ease of operation. This transmitter operates off from a dual signal system including an invisible radio signal AND an 88-bit digital code. This 88-bit code is the rough equivelant of sending a serial number through the air. Without this "serial number" being present, your dog's receiver collar can't activate. Therefore the Dog Guard system is immune to stray signals from other electronic devices and electrical appliances that can interfere with other brands of fencing equipment. In addition to this, the 88-bit code allows your transmitter and receiver to communicate with each other and to generate not one, but two signal fields. In other words, if your dog is distracted by something and enters the signal field, he will receive an audible warning tone and a low level correction, if he proceeds further into the signal field, it will sense his progress and automatically increase the correction level to a higher setting. This second zone is rarely required but it is an effective tool for keeping your pet safe in his yard when he is distracted.
On the T4 transmitter the top POWER light illuminates green when there is power to the unit and the on/off switch is in the on position. The middle LOOP light illuminates red when the loop wire around your property is intact, and if the wire is cut the light goes out and a constant audible tone is generated by the transmitter to warn you that there is a problem with the system. The bottom FAULT light flashes yellow when there is a problem with the transmitter's circuit board caused by a power surge or a lightning strike and an oscillating audible tone is generated. But don't worry, if the circuit board is damaged due to a power surge or a lightning strike, the replacement of your equipment is covered under Dog Guard's Lifetime Warranty! Not only that, but help is just a phone call away... we will dispatch a Dog Guard service technician to your home to remedy any problem that you might have.
The Dog Guard TS5 transmitter.
While the T4 transmitter is capable of containing your pet in any area ranging from the smallest you can find and up to 100 acres, the TS5 transmitter is designed for smaller areas of less than one acre. The TS5 has one indicator light that reports whether there is power to the unit and also indicates if there has been a cut in the loop wire around your yard. It generates one signal (the 88-bit digital code that is available in the T4 is not available in the TS5) and therefore generates a single pet containment field. This means that the second zone that is available in the T4 transmitter is not available with the TS5.
The Dog Guard RT-2 Room Transmitter.
We could change the name of the Dog Guard RT-2 (Room Transmitter) to the "Baby Gate Eliminator" and it would be very well described. Many times I go into a pet owner's home and I see the owner stepping over a baby gate every time that they go in and out of the kitchen or up and down the stairs. There is no evidence of a baby in the house, no diaper bag, no toys... only dog toys.
With the Dog Guard indoor transmitter there is no need for baby gates and chairs laid on their side to block doorways. This wireless unit operates with the same receiver collars as our outdoor system. Therefore, if you already have our outdoor system, you simply purchase a room transmitter and you are up and running. The indoor transmitter can be used to keep your pet out of certain rooms, out of the garbage, or from grazing on the kitchen counters. It can even be put inside of a waterproof container and placed in a flowerbed to keep your dog from digging.
And the best part... if you have a creative installer, this amazing little transmitter is easily concealed and better yet, can either be mounted in one location or left portable so that you can protect multiple areas with a single transmitter!
The Dog Guard indoor system uses the same dual-signal technology as our outdoor system. This means that the AM signal combined with our unique 88-bit digital code eliminates the possibility of a false activation from another signal source. In addition to the anti-falsing technology provided by the 88-bit code, the receiver can be set to increase the intensity of the correction as your pet continues into the signal field and gets closer to the transmitter.
Two handy adjustments and indicator lights help you to control the distance that the room transmitter projects its signal and the intensity of the correction that your pet receives if he should challenge this unseen barrier. What a simple way to keep your pet from getting into areas that are "off-limits"!
The Panamax dog fence surge protector.
The Panamax dog fence surge protector is designed, as the name would imply, specifically for use with dog fences. There are two AC outlets on the unit so that you can protect your Dog Guard system and another device as well (often times your lawn irrigation system). In addition to the outlets, there are four quick release wiring ports where your Dog Guard wires plug into the unit. In the event of a massive power surge, such as a direct lightning strike, the Panamax "Protect or Disconnect" circuitry will preserve your Dog Guard transmitter. This is done through the use of poly-phasers which, if they encounter a significant surge, open up and then close again as they cool. The result is a surge protector that automatically resets itself and keeps your system running... there is no need to hit a reset button. And, the easy to read power light is there to let you know that your Dog Guard system is safe and that Panamax is there on the job!
Battery back-up.
The Back-UPS ES 350 is a battery back up that will provide any Dog Guard Pet Fencing customer with peace of mind. Lab tests indicate that this battery back up will keep your Dog Guard system up and running for up to four hours in the event of a power outage. The battery back-up has its own built-in rechargeable power source that maintains a charge in reserve until it is needed. This means that it is always standing watch and is ready should you experience power failure in your neighborhood. If your dog is a tester, you will want to have this unit on hand for the peace of mind.
